European Navigation Conference
The European Navigation Conference, which is going to be organized in 2012, will be the most important European event of this kind in 2012, a great chance to meet a lot of eminent people who work in the field of navigation.
The conference will also be a wonderful occasion to exchange information about the latest developments in navigation and positioning systems, navigation techniques and their applications. New technologies and latest proposals of technical, research and industrial companies, related to all kinds of human activities connected with navigation, will be presented during the conference.
NMM History Symposium
Following a successful meeting in 2010, the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Institute of Navigation are planning a second symposium to bring together current research in the history of navigation.
The symposium will explore the wider impact of the ‘discovery’ of longitude and the ways in which navigation has evolved since then. In particular it will aim to investigate the connections between navigational advances and the development of exploration, surveying, commerce and empire from the 19th century to today.
Proposals for papers on these and related themes are now being sought
