European Navigation Conference 2011
This year’s European Navigation Conference, ENC 2011, to be held in London, will cover advances in all aspects of location and navigation technology and their applications.
Sessions will be organised into both plenary and parallel means which will cover navigation system infrastructure and policy, technical and commercial aspects of varied applications, and safety and security issues.
Authors are invited to submit a brief outline of their presentation, not exceeding 300 words. Please note the closing date for this call for papers is 9th May 2011.

IALA training seminar on
risk management
The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), in conjunction with the Arabian Maritime Navigation Aids Services (AMNAS) will host an IALA training seminar on the IALA Risk Management Tool Box – PAWSA, IWRAP Mk2 & Simulation from 27th November to 1st December 2011, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Muscat.
This seminar will be within the framework of the IALA World-Wide Academy and will show how PAWSA and IWRAP Mk2 complement each other, review the utility of PAWSA to national administrations and the need for trained facilitators and introduce the revised and recently updated IWRAP Mk2. Furthermore the seminar will also provide training on the use of IWRAP Mk2, using practical examples.

TransNav 2011
The Symposium is addressed to scientists and professionals in order to share their expert knowledge, experience and research results concerning all aspects of navigation, safety of navigation and sea transportation. The goal of the TransNav is to bring together experts from the field of navigation, transport, ocean engineering and maritime technology to discuss on the state-of-the-art and to present new research findings and perspectives of future developments with respect to the conference themes.
