Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2009
This has been established as the European and International Conference with a global impact featuring invited high-ranking worldwide speakers from industry, science and governments dealing with the directions of satellite navigation now and in the future.
The event will be organised by the Institute of Geodesy and Navigation in co-operation with the State of Bavaria with bavAIRia, DLR, EADS Astrium, Landesamt für Vermessung und Geoinformation and the Bundeswehr Universität München. The event will open on 3rd March at 1700 with the Opening Plenary Panel and there will follow a Bavarian State Reception in the famous Residenz München.
The following day the programme will commence embracing the development of Galileo, the modernisation of GPS (GPS-III), the revitalisation of GLONASS and its transition from FDMA to CDMA. The development of new regional satellite systems such as the Chinese COMPASS, the Japanese QZSS and the Indian IRNSS will also be considered along with the development of new regional augmentation systems and other worldwide activities in the field of receivers and service operations.
The Summit will further highlight the creation of new applications and services in satellite navigation in combination with telecommunications and information technology, in particular geo-information technology.
There will be an exhibition of industry and institutions and a visit to the German Galileo Test Environment (GATE) now available for operational use and the European Satellite Navigation Competition 2009 will be opened.
Registration charges increase progressively from mid-October to January.
