Innovation in maritime navigation

The KTN, RIN and GLAs are running and event exploring all technologies for robust, cost-effective ship navigaiton over the next fifteen years.

The event will consider the challenges, capabilities, limitations, development potential and practicability of candidate technologies and how they may contribute within a future ship/shore Integrated Navigation solution. The perspectives of user needs, research, technology readiness level, commercial exploitation, ship equipage, shore-based infrastructure, regulatory action are all important in assessing the future direction of maritime solutions. The integrity of navigation information used within the future digital bridge systems and e-Navigation services is vital to the safety of maritime operations, avoiding collisions and groundings in increasingly congested sea areas.
