Geo IoT World 2017

The prospects for Geo IoT (Internet of Things) innovation in 2017 are exciting. Indoors, the new breed of radio technologies keeps its promise for RTLS (Real-Time Locating Systems). The UWB (Ultra-wideband) radio technology offers great opportunities to deploy high-accuracy low-cost indoor location in a broad range of applications. The Bluetooth LE – Beacons market is also finally taking off thanks in particular to Apple’s iBeacon and Google’s Eddystone protocols wide availability.

Meanwhile, the LPWA (Low-Power Wide-Area) networks wave keep flowing, allowing a true mass-market for low-cost long-range geo-aware IoT scenarios. High precision GNSS is also becoming the next big thing, boosted by the incoming Galileo-based location technologies and services. Low-cost, precision, global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) receivers will become a reality in the driverless cars, drones.
