Third ICAO Air Transport Symposium

This symposium will serve as a forum for the exchange of views and information on competition issues amongst policy makers, air transport regulators, industry representatives, aviation professionals, competition law experts and other stakeholders. It will offer participants the opportunity to examine practical solutions to competition issues including, but not limited to, the role of government under the liberalized market, the application of competition rules to international air transport, aviation-specific safeguards, air connectivity and competitiveness in a liberalized market.

Speakers will include high-level representatives from civil aviation and competition authorities, airlines, airports, academia and international organizations. The discussions will provide valuable insight on competition issues from the perspective of civil aviation stakeholders and assist in the ongoing effort in the development of multilateral arrangements for liberalization of market access, air carrier ownership and control.

The Symposium will also allow the aviation industry to showcase their trade, including new technologies, on-going research and development activities, as well as products and services pertinent to the air transport sector.
